In 2015, we launched our very own Next International Film Festival of Houston, also known as NIFF HOUSTON.  

Each year Niff presents an amazing lineup of features, shorts, and documentaries from all around the globe. Check out NIFF award winning Writer-director Romuald Boulanger's thriller On The Line.

Starring Mel Gibson, On The Line is based on Boulanger's short film Talk,  which won several awards at Niff 2019.

Our production company Lake Camp Productions makes 2-3 feature films or series a year that get released worldwide, premiering  in different film festivals, thus giving an exposure to our talented  students. Our films have been opening in  film festivals around the globe, notably the Museum of Modern Arts  (MOMA), Cannes,  New York, Hoboken and others. 

Next Actor Studio works with several A List Agents and Producers in Hollywood and Europe, and have worked with several well-known actors, such as Oscar  and Golden Globe nominee Eric Roberts, United Nations Speaker and  producer Kamala Lopez, KISS founder Gene Simmons' wife - actress and former supermodel Shannon Tweed, NBA champ Rick Fox, Disney star Andrea Guasch, Television star Charlie O'Connell, Martin Sheen's brother Joe Estevez to name but a few. We welcome students from all around the world. Foreign students are able to join our in-person classes, as long as they are already in Houston. Otherwise, they can take our virtual classes via zoom.  

• All our acting and voice classes are recorded, and performances are emailed to students. Students receive feedback while in class. The classes are usually method acting based workshops with focus on emotional and sense memory and the importance of intellect, aesthetics and ethics in acting.
   
• The acting classes are geared towards acting for editing, making impression at a film audition, understanding choices, Through  exercise and bits, the classes aim to bring the best out of a student while helping them reach their emotional peaks.

• After signing up online, students receive a confirmation email to bring to class on the first day. Incomplete registrations are discarded after 4 hours.  Students are required to remain respectful and courteous to fellow classmates and staff at all times. Underage students in adult classes are welcome to bring their parents to sit in class with them. 

• We issue full refunds if we cancel a session on our end.  However, we do not issue refunds if a student cancels a class on the day of, or less than 72 business hours prior, as we are unable to fill the seat in that time. Students who cancel classes can use the credits towards any service of the same value at our studio.  If a student cancels a class before 72 hours, then we issue refund but deduct the processing fee of $40.  
   
• Our behind-the scene classes allow students knowledge by working hands-on with scripts and also provide them opportunities for  internship and crew work during our in-house productions. 
   
• Students who enroll in an Intense Acting Session must have prior on-camera Training. The classes are geared  towards acting for editing, making impression at a film audition,  understanding choices and analyzing scripts, Through exercises and improv, the classes aim to bring the best out of a student while helping them reach their emotional  peaks.

• Our  alum casting group notifies students of production listings and auditions that they can attend.
   
• Script reads, movie nights and rehearsals of productions are excellent ways to take the craft beyond classes. Screenwriting students  can hold readings of their screenplays with acting students. Filmmaking students can collaborate with acting students to make their shorts and screen them to an audience. Many students have started their career by working in Next Actor films first before moving on to work in larger projects.  For  a serious student, looking to learn and receive proper on-camera  training, this is the right place where classes are taught by professionals who are currently working in the industry, and therefore are knowledgeable about the changing trends and technology, and train students to have a long-lasting career in meaningful works. The studio itself provides a platform for our acting, filmmaking, screenwriting and editing students to collaborate with each other and work in shorts and independent films, start their IMDb resume, and receive hands-on training.
